Of course, we still offer all of your domestic and import favorites but pride ourselves in our commitment to bringing you the best craft beer offering possible. Rochester Craft Beer Little Known Facts

Craft Brewers are usually small, independent brewers that make their product in the traditional way. Less than 25% of all craft beer breweries are owned or controlled by conglomerates which makes this specialty beer take on unique tastes and attributes.

The number 1 reason that Rochester craft beers are becoming very popular is that they taste better, but here are a few other reasons:

Manufactured beer companies try to make their beers as cheap as possible, giving them a watered down taste. The more water, the less taste.
Craft beers usually pack more of a punch because they have a higher alcohol content, most range from 5-10%, but can go as high as 30%.

Drinking craft beers usually means fewer trips to the bathroom. Why? Drinking stronger, full flavor beers means less intake of your standard watered down factory brews. You actually drink less, have tons of flavor and more alcohol content.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention health benefits. Craft beers actually have more benefits than red wine. Many are rich in soluble fibers, folate acids, and a wide range of antioxidants.
Choices. With over 1,600 craft breweries and growing, there are thousands of flavors and styles to choose from. Usually you don’t have to go to far to enjoy.

You get more bang for your buck. Having to drink less and the possibility of drinking growlers or pints can usually bring a friendly session of beer down to less than a few dollars a beer. Try that with your Bud, Miller or European imports.
Many craft breweries produce a special seasonal/holiday beer incorporating flavors that give special meaning to the holiday spirit.

At 585 Rochester Beer our staff is well versed in all things beer. So while you may not be a beer connoisseur or you’re picking out a mixed six pack for a friend, we will be right there to help you with all your questions.

PILSNER

Golden in color with a dry, crisp, and somewhat bitter flavor.

STOUTS

Not as sweet to the taste as a Porter with a rich creamy head and can be brewed with unmalted roasted barley to achieve a coffee-like taste.

PALE ALE

Copper colored, robust and with a strong hoppy flavor.

RED ALE

Red or light brown in color and moderate to heavy in flavor with hints of caramel.
